My 10 year old daughter Emily created a crochet stitch that she calls the "bubble stitch". It's quick and easy and she uses it for scarves, purse straps, hair ties, bracelets, anklets, things like that. Here is a video of how to do the bubble stitch. In this video she used a J hook and chunky #5 yarn.
